Processor chipset which is claimed to have the fastest ability to smartphones and tablet computers is scheduled to slide this end of the year 2010. Vice President of Product Management Qualcomm CDMA Technologies, said Mark Frankel, Snapdragon QSD8672 dual-core processors will be shipped with the CPU (Central Processing Unit) core running at capacity up to 1.5 GHz.

“This chip can be used to smartphones, tablets and cheap laptop (netbook),” Frankel said as quoted from PC World.

Described by him, this chip is the latest series of dual-core chip Snapdragon. Unlike the MSM8660 series which began shipping in the second quarter, 8672 is claimed to have a faster processor. 8672 is the processor in the chip design is made using Arm and 45-nanometer process. Series 8672 has a feature called voltage scaling individual so that each CPU can be ‘locked’ independently from each other. An analyst at Rodman & Renshaw, Ashok Kumar said, RIM is currently working on a tablet PC with a 7-inch touch screen and powered by a 1 GHz processor from Marvel.
